Editor/Author Biographies
Ben Fong is a Family Doctor and a Specialist in Community Medicine, currently a Senior Lecturer and the Award Leader in Health Studies at the School of Professional Education and Executive Development in the College of Professional Education and Continuing Education at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Ben had his medical training and Public Health education at the University of Sydney, Australia. He has served in public, private and university healthcare facilities both in Hong Kong and in Sydney, and has commissioned and managed two hospitals in Hong Kong, including a new private hospital. He has also served as the Director of University Health Service of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Academically, Ben holds Honorary Associate Professorship at both local medical schools, and a local school of Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong. He has published books, and is a reviewer of a local medical journal.
Artie W. Ng is currently Principal Lecturer and Deputy Director with School of Professional Education & Executive Development at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Dr. Ng has a research interest in sustainability performance of knowledge-intensive organizations. He has published with international academic and professional journals, including International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, Journal of Intellectual Capital, Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment as well as Corporate Governance Asia, etc. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Adam Smith School of Business at the University of Glasgow, MBA from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and M.Eng. in Technology Management at the University of Waterloo. He is a qualified accountant and a fellow member with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Senior Member with Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
Peter P. Yuen is Dean of the College of Professional and Continuing Education of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He is also Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing of PolyU. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Master in Business Administration degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Economics from the University of Birmingham. Professor Yuen’s research involves public policy formulation and evaluation, and health services management. He is an Editor of Public Administration and Policy and an Editorial Committee member of Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management. Professor Yuen is currently the Chairman of the Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education (Hong Kong). He is a founding Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Health Services Executives, and an Honorary Fellow of the Australian College of Health Services Management.
