Editor/Author Biographies

Debasish Batabyal has been teaching Travel and Tourism Management at the Department of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Kolkata, West Bengal. A Post-graduate in Business Management with specialization in Tourism, Dr. Batabyal received Doctorate degree from the same University in the year 2013. His areas of research interest include eTourism, Sustainable Tourism and Social Solidarity Economy, and Destination development and planning. He has written two books and edited two more with reputed international publishing house. He has published a number of research articles in internationally reputed journals of Social Science viz., Indian Journal of Marketing, South Asian Journal of Tourism and Heritage, IJARBEST, Journal of Emerging Technologies and Research, and also in various edited volumes published by CRC press, (Canada), Cambridge Scholars Publishing (UK), IGI Global (USA). He has also co-authored chapter in District Human Development Report (UNDP and Govt. of West Bengal) and District Gazetteer Report (Govt. of West Bengal). In recent times, he has been awarded ILO‟s South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) scholarship to participate in the 11th Social and Solidarity Economy Academy at Madrid, Spain.

Dillip Kumar Das is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism, Sikkim Central University. He has been awarded PhD in the year 2008 in Tourism from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa on the topic “Economic, Socio Cultural and Environmental Impact of Tourism: A case Study on Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar”. He has Completed Masters in Tourism Management (MTM) from IGNOU, and also Two times Qualified UGC- NET (National Eligibility test for Lectureship) in December 2003and in 2004. He has Completed Master Degree in Economics, from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, and also Completed Diploma in Tourism Management, from Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. The author’s areas of research interest are Eco-Tourism, Tourism Impact Studies and Travel Agency Management. He has altogether 15 years of Academic experience in tourism education. The author is now currently associated with different university and institute of repute in India including I.G.N.O.U, IITTM, Magadh University, Utkal University, etc.
