Description & Coverage
Description:

This book investigates the contributions of Africa’s indigenous knowledge to the wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) as a way to solve the problems the world is facing. The book intends to take a decolonial perspective and examine the literature on African Studies to understand the role of Africa’s indigenous knowledge in the post-modern world. An academic gap exists with regard to today’s literature on digitalization when it comes to understanding the role of African indigenous knowledge in the wave of the 4IR and localizing it in the context of global governance. Therefore, this gap requires academic attention, which is the primary goal of this book volume. This is because social sciences and studies of the humanities claim that Africa has not contributed anything to the wave of digital technology although the history and the daily realities of the continent show that the opposite is true.
