Introduction

The post-pandemic era has created extensive disruptions in many areas of business and society that are easily verified. Such disruptions have certainly extended to the human resources management function that was already experiencing labor shortages and other challenges in the USA and elsewhere before 2020. This publication examines the disruptions in-depth and their influences as they relate to the current hiring, effective retention, engagement, and productivity of available talent in an era of growing global skills gaps and a rapidly ageing world population within the context of a multigenerational workforce.

Objective

The purpose of this publication is to provide a holistic perspective of how the global landscape has changed with regards to effective human resources management in the post-pandemic world, and the resulting effect on employee engagement and productivity within a multigenerational workforce.

Target Audience

The primary target audience for this publication is scholar-practitioners who require a contemporary resource for their work in the human resource management sphere. The secondary target audience is graduate students who seek the same holistic resource.
